This is an oil painting I just completed, in gray scale, if a beautiful tree peony I found growing in our yard last May. The span of the flower was about nine inches. I love the one petal in the center front, cupping upwards. It is as graceful as a gentle hand cupping water or a pearl.
The painting is oil on canvas, 11″ x 14″ in size.

Beautiful! I had to read your write up on the painting to know whether it was a photo or a painting.
Great job.

Beautiful capturing of the heart of the flower! (I remember doing black & white studies…not easy! You did a GREAT job!) Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful! The depth you captured is wonderful. I would like to see this in its natural state (the painting, that is).
